Industrial construction services.

Small jobs and large, complex projects, built by our own crews while your plant keeps running.

Construction for operating plants

Rice Brothers is a premier engineering and construction firm, building for plant services, midstream, renewables and food and beverage clients. From small jobs to large and complex projects, we’re equipped to handle your construction needs, and our work is built to last for years.

We provide a full range of manufacturing plant contract services, including construction, operations and maintenance. Communication and collaboration come first, because most of our work happens inside facilities that can’t stop producing. Whether it’s a capital improvement, a tie-in during a shutdown or a major overhaul, our multi-discipline teams deliver on time.

Our ability to self-perform all major craft disciplines means fewer handoffs and fewer surprises. The people who plan the work are the people who show up to do it.

What our crews build

Every major craft, under one contract.

Rice Brothers’ in-house fab shop builds and customizes equipment and components to your plant’s specific requirements.

Water treatment storage tanks

Storage & treatment systems

The infrastructure to store, move and treat liquids and gases, built as one system with the foundations, piping, pumps, controls and electrical around it.

How we run a construction project

Every project starts with a plan that your operations team can live with. We walk the site, review the drawings, and agree on work windows, isolation points, permits and access routes before mobilizing. On a live plant, that planning is what keeps the work safe and the production schedule intact.

On site, one Rice Brothers superintendent runs the job and coordinates every craft. Because our own people handle piping, mechanical, structural, concrete, and electrical and instrumentation, there’s no waiting on a separate subcontractor to finish before the next trade can start. Daily coordination with your operations staff keeps everyone working from the same schedule.

We close out the way we started: carefully. Punch lists, testing, documentation and a clean handover give your team a facility that’s ready to run. And because we also provide plant maintenance, many clients keep our crews on after construction is complete.

Industrial construction FAQ

Quick answers to what clients ask us most. There’s more on our FAQ page.

Can you work inside a plant while it's operating?

Yes. Most of our construction happens in operating facilities. We plan the work around your production schedule and coordinate closely with operations so the plant keeps running.

Do you take on small construction jobs?

Yes. We handle everything from small jobs to large and complex capital projects. If the work fits our crafts, the size of the job isn’t a barrier.

Which crafts do you self-perform?

We self-perform all major craft disciplines, including piping, mechanical, structural, concrete, and electrical and instrumentation. That gives you a single-source solution with fewer subcontractor handoffs.

Do you handle shutdowns and turnarounds?

Yes. Our multi-discipline teams handle tie-ins, capital improvements and major overhauls planned around shutdown windows.

What industries do you build for?

Oil and gas, midstream, chemical and petrochemical, water treatment, food and beverage, data centers, renewables and general manufacturing. We also take on other industrial work where our crews fit the need. See our industries page.

Do you build storage and treatment systems?

Yes. Liquid storage, water and wastewater, emissions control, degasification skids, chemical mixing and UHP distribution systems are part of our construction scope, built as one system with the piping, pumps and controls around them.
