Food & beverage construction.

Processing facilities built up to code, so you meet every health and safety standard for what you make.

From conceptual design to full-scale production

We’re qualified and equipped to build food and beverage facilities that are up to code, so you can meet every health and safety standard for consumer food and beverages. Rice Brothers develops and improves facilities for high-quality, safe and sanitary operations, from the first concept through full-scale production.

Food plants are unforgiving places to build. Sanitary design, hygienic welding, washdown-rated equipment and tight production schedules all matter at once. Ongoing training keeps our teams current with industry changes and regulatory standards, so we can adapt to your methods and requirements instead of asking you to adapt to ours.

Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are home to some of Canada’s largest food processors, and our Calgary office serves them and processors anywhere in Canada.

New lines, expansions and the systems that keep them cold and clean.

Refrigeration under the same roof

Most food and beverage plants run on refrigeration. Our HVAC, refrigeration and plumbing team handles process ammonia chillers, compound and cascade systems and cooling towers, so the piping, the equipment and the cold side come from one contractor.

Built around production and sanitation

A food plant can’t simply shut down for construction. Product runs, sanitation cycles and inspection schedules all have to keep moving. We plan our work around them, using production breaks, scheduled shutdowns and careful phasing to install new equipment and tie in process lines with as little disruption as possible.

Sanitary construction demands attention to detail. Hygienic piping and welding, washdown-rated materials, slope and drainage, and clean work practices protect your product and your food safety certifications. Our crews follow your plant’s own procedures on site, including hygiene, allergen and foreign material controls.

From a single equipment install to a full line expansion or a new processing facility, we’ll help you plan the project, build it to code and support it with maintenance once it’s running.

Most of our food and beverage clients want one contractor for the life of the plant. After construction, our crews can stay on for maintenance, sanitation-friendly equipment changes and future line expansions, so the people who built your plant are the ones keeping it running.
