Refineries, upgraders, potash, fertilizer and agri-food plants, from Lloydminster to Regina and everywhere between.
Saskatchewan’s economy runs on resources and the plants that process them. Regina has a major refinery complex and a growing cluster of canola crushing plants. Lloydminster, on the Alberta border, is a heavy oil centre with an upgrader and an asphalt refinery. The potash belt around Saskatoon supplies a large share of the world’s fertilizer. The southeast has light oil production and carbon capture, and processing plants for grain, pulse and oilseed crops are spread across the whole province.
That mix lines up closely with the work Rice Brothers knows best: refining, chemical and fertilizer plants, oil and gas facilities, food processing, and the water and utility systems behind all of them.
Our Calgary office manages Saskatchewan projects. Lloydminster is an easy reach from the Alberta side, and crews travel to Regina, Saskatoon, Estevan and remote mine sites as projects require.
The same single-source delivery we offer everywhere in Canada.
A province built on processing, which is exactly where our crews work.

Processing plants and surface facilities at potash mines, plus nitrogen fertilizer production.
Canola crushing, pulse processing, grain handling and food plants built and maintained to code. See food & beverage.
Batteries, gas plants and facilities across the province’s heavy oil and light oil regions.

Saskatchewan projects range from in-town plant work in Regina and Saskatoon to remote mine sites hours from the nearest city. We plan travel, accommodation and material logistics for each, and our crews follow each owner’s site orientation and safety program.
Mine sites and processing plants bring their own site-specific training and access requirements. We confirm what each site needs before mobilizing. Every worker completes company orientation, Basic Plus+, site-specific orientation, pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, respirator fit testing, a medical evaluation and physical, and NCCER or equivalent industry certification before starting work.
Prairie winters are long and cold, and spring road bans limit heavy hauls. We build both into the schedule from the start, so materials arrive when they’re needed and work keeps moving through the season.
Saskatchewan’s growth projects are adding new work across the province, from potash mine construction east of Saskatoon to new canola crushing capacity around Regina and carbon capture in the southeast. Large projects like these need skilled trades for years, not weeks, and they compete for the same people. We plan staffing early, keep crews together from job to job, and draw on the wider Rice Brothers organization when a project needs more people or equipment. For smaller plants, we offer the same crafts and safety program on a scale that fits a single shutdown or a few weeks of maintenance.
Wherever the site is, Saskatchewan clients get one point of contact in our Calgary office, a superintendent on site who runs the job, and crews who self-perform the major crafts instead of handing work to a chain of subcontractors.
All of it, including Regina, Saskatoon, Lloydminster, Estevan, Prince Albert, and remote mine and plant sites.
