From a facility revamp to a grassroots plant, our engineers draw the project the way our crews will build it.
Rice Brothers is a full-service industrial engineering and design company. We work on everything from revamps of existing facilities to large-scale industrial complexes, and we’ve completed highly complex engineering, procurement and construction projects in remote and challenging locations.
Because the same company builds what we design, our engineers work with construction in mind from the first sketch. Constructability reviews happen early, procurement is planned around real lead times, and the drawings that reach the field match the way our crews actually install pipe, steel and equipment. That’s what keeps a project on schedule and on budget.
Rice Brothers Canada manages engineering from our office at 685 Centre Street South in Calgary and supports projects in every province and territory.
Take one discipline or the whole package. Most clients start with engineering and keep us through construction.
Engineering is the first phase of our EPC approach, and the one that sets up every phase after it.
We define scope, budget and schedule with you, so the project starts with numbers everyone believes.
Detailed engineering across process, civil/structural and mechanical, coordinated as one package rather than three.
Equipment and materials bought to the design, then handed straight to our own construction crews.
Engineering a project in Canada means designing for the conditions the plant will actually see. Winter construction windows, freeze protection, heat tracing, snow and wind loads, and the logistics of moving large equipment over long distances all shape the design long before steel is ordered. Our engineers account for them early, because a change on paper costs far less than a change in the field.
Procurement gets the same attention. Long-lead equipment such as compressors, vessels, switchgear and chillers can set the critical path for an entire project. We build the procurement plan alongside the design, track lead times from the start, and sequence engineering deliverables so the items that take longest to buy are specified first.
When the engineering is done, the package goes to our own construction crews instead of a separate contractor. The people who drew the project stay involved through installation and commissioning, answering field questions quickly and keeping the as-built drawings accurate for your operations team.
We provide process, civil/structural and mechanical engineering, along with project management, project engineering, detailed design, project development and procurement. Electrical and instrumentation work is part of our self-performed construction scope.
Yes. You can hire us for a single discipline, a full engineering package or complete EPC delivery. Many clients start with engineering and keep us on for construction because the handoff is simpler with one company.
Both. Our work ranges from revamps and expansions of operating facilities to large-scale grassroots industrial projects.
EPC stands for engineering, procurement and construction. One contractor designs the project, buys the equipment and materials, and builds it, so you have a single point of responsibility from first drawing to handover.
Yes. Rice Brothers has completed complex EPC projects in remote and challenging locations, and we plan logistics, material delivery and constructability for those conditions from the start.
Canadian projects are managed from our Calgary office at 685 Centre Street South, Suite 2700, with support from the wider Rice Brothers organization in the United States when a project needs it.
